Christmas comes to 1st Place at Chumleigh Gardens

Christmas has well and truly arrived at 1st Place and Chumleigh Gardens. A big thank you to all our parents who supported our recent Christmas events at 1st Place at Chumleigh Gardens. It was a delight to see our older nursery children sharing Christmas tea with their friends and Key Persons, and our babies celebrating with their parents. We even had visits to see Santa in his grotto! The children also enjoyed carol singing in the nursery and around the Christmas tree in Burgess Park.

At 1st Place at Chumleigh Gardens, we have been making connections between the themes of the solar system and Christmas stories, really stretching our children’s imagination. For example, an astronaut travels far into space in a rocket and Santa travels far across the sky on a sleigh. This approach stimulates our children’s fascination with space, the sky and the stars, enabling them to visualize long distances. Staff have also been encouraging connections through handmade Christmas decorations, a selection of Christmas carols and the composition of a special poem.

A special thank you to those parents who have made a particularly invaluable contribution to our children’s experiences. This includes helping to build our space station, being Santa and playing the harmonica. What a wonderfully talented bunch of parents we have!
