Nurseries celebrate World Book Day
We love books at 1st Place and our nurseries have kicked off their World Book Day celebrations in style with parent storytelling sessions, trips to see ‘Cow’s Rainy Day’ at the Blue Elephant Theatre and special activities at each site.
At 1st Place at Cambridge House, our children are participating in Language Week with parents sharing stories and songs in their own language at nursery. The children are also making their own props and retelling their favourite stories.
Our children at 1st Place at Lorrimore Square have been bringing stories to life with their very own story sacks and getting stuck into their new lending library. On World Book Day, there will also be a special puppet show in our Baby Room devised by the babies themselves featuring Cuckoo the bird. (Watch this space for more on our beloved Cuckoo!)
In addition to storytelling sessions, 1st Place at Chumleigh Garden are also hosting a specially adapted early years show, bringing children from across all 1st Place nurseries together. Our children will enjoy a performance of Old Macdonald and the Three Little Pigs followed by an afternoon tea.
It’s not too late to get involved. If you are a 1st Place nursery parent/carer and would like to participate in any of these activities, please get in touch with your nursery. Happy World Book Day everybody!
