Thing of the Week - Squidgy Sand

As part of the launch of 50 Things in Southwark, we are focusing on 1 of the 50 activities in this amazing app. Next is ‘Squidgy Sand’.

From squidging to building or filling and pouring, sand can offer endless possibilities. Try playing with wet or dry sand and mark make, sculpt or shovel using different objects such as a spade, a sieve or even your hand! To encourage imaginative play, you could even create a themed world using small toy animals. Don’t have a sand pit? Don’t worry, try using a large washing up bowl, a box or a tray.

For more information on this activity including how to do it, the benefits, top tips and resources, download the free 50 Things app from Google Play or the Apple Store.
