Introducing Cuckoo the Bird

Our babies at 1st Place at Lorrimore Square have developed a fascination with a new puppet friend, even helping to create a song and the following story about him. A warm welcome to 1st Place, Cuckoo the Bird!

Once upon a time, at a nursery called at 1st Place at Lorrimore Square, there was a Baby Room. Inside this very special room, the children were eager and bubbly, and absolutely loved playing with puppets. One bright morning, the storyteller took a special red bag out of the magic cupboard and sat down with all of the children.

Suddenly, one of the puppets jumped out of the bag! It was very colourful, with soft feathers and a long beak. The children were fascinated and all pointed to their new puppet friend, exclaiming “Oh, Cuckoo!”. Now, every story time, Cuckoo pays a visit to his new friends. They have even created a song together. Cuckoo flaps his wings in happiness and the children join him to sing the following song:

“If you’re happy and you know it flap your wings….flap, flap! If you’re happy and you know it, stomp your feet…stomp, stomp! If you’re happy and you know it, squawk your beak…squawk, squawk!”.
